Notes:

Even though water bottles offer the pet owner the convenience of not having to re-fill water bowls regularly, water bottles should be checked daily to ensure the water is still flowing through the nozzle.

Water should be replaced regularly to prevent bacteria and/or algae build up.

Water levels in the bottle should still be monitored to ensure water level is going down every day.  Usually unchanged water levels that aren't going down are an indication that your pet might be unwell and should be investigated.

Some baby rodents and small animals will need to learn to use a water bottle, therefore it is important to have a water bowl in the cage alongside the water bottle initially until such time as the pet owner is confident the pet knows how to drink from a water bottle.
