How does it work? Carbaryl acts on the nervous system of the parasites as inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase (also known as AchE), an enzyme that hydrolyzes acetylcholine (Ach). Ach is a molecule involved in the transmission of nervous signals from nerves to muscles (so-called neuromuscular junctions) and between neurons in the brain (so-called cholinergic brain synapses).

AchE’s role is to terminate the transmission of nervous signals where Ach is the neurotransmitter (there are several other neurotransmitters). By inhibiting the activity of AchE, carbaryl prevent the termination of those nervous signals, i.e. the neurons remain in constant activity and excitation, massively disturbing the normal movements of the parasites. The bottom line for the parasites is that they are paralyzed and die more or less quickly.

Where can it be used? Dogs, cats, poultry, birds, lawns and ornamentals.

Active ingredient: Carbaryl (Carbamate) 50 g/kg

Warnings:

• Allow 14 days between last application and harvest or grazing and 7 days between last application and slaughter of fowls for human consumption.
• Poisonous by swallowing and inhalation.

Precautions:

• Avoid prolonged contact with, or inhalation, of dust.
• Wash thoroughly with soap and water after use or accidental skin contact.
• Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst applying.
• Prevent drift onto other crops or areas not under treatment.
• Destroy empty container and do not use for any other purpose.

• Prevent contamination of food, feed, drinking water and eating utensils.

Poultry and cage birds	Red mites and tampans	Dust all poultry houses thoroughly and pay particular attention to the floor, new litter, perches, nests and nest hay as well as cracks in woodwork and walls.
	Lice	Dust under each wing and the vent.
Dogs and cats	Ticks and fleas	Sprinkle the powder lightly on the hair and rub in well. In the case of cats, the powder must be brushed out afterwards. Apply treatment weekly or as often as is necessary.
Lawns	Lucerne caterpillars, lawn caterpillars, army worms, elegant   Grasshoppers and crickets	Karbadust dusting powder must be applied at the rate of 20 g / 10 m2 on areas infested by these pests. Where lawn caterpillars occur, the lawn must be lightly irrigated after dusting. Where crickets occur, dust inside the holes.   One application should suffice.
Ornamentals	Shield bugs, chafer beetles and astylus beetles	Dust plants thoroughly when these pests are noticed.
